What is your name? Lasa
Aside from Ben 10, what is one show that you make sure to never miss? House (And yes, I did see it. It was great.)
Ben 10 fan for how long? Since about August. I heard about it from my little brother (who is now 7), but had missed the original series. I have my DVR set to record them so I can catch up on the background info. I have to laugh at myself because my five year old daughter loves Alien Force as much as I do so we watch it together.
What do you do for a living? I work in the Security department at a Theatre/Performing Arts venue in Philadelphia.
When did you discover fanfiction? I first started reading it in high-school when I was really into Anime (nearly ten years ago). However, I didn't find FFNet until about a year ago.
Do you prefer romantic fics or action-based fics? I'm an action junkie. That's not to say that I won't enjoy a good romantic story, but I prefer stories that have good fight scenes as well as challenging situations for the characters involved.
What other fandoms do you dabble in besides B10? Almost anything vampire, except for Twilight (not a fan). Moonlight and BloodTies were among my favorites before they were canceled. Other than that, as far as fics, I enjoy Heroes fics and I've read some really good ones based on the movie Labyrinth.
How long have you been writing (if applicable)? I did a lot of creative writing just for fun back in Junior High and High School. Recently, over the past year, I've started getting serious about it and I'm working on my first full-length novel.
What are several unforgettable movies, in your opinion? Definitely Clerks. Having worked in both a convenience store and a video store in the past, I can relate to it. Aside from that, Labyrinth, The Green Mile, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Boondock Saints, and the Princess Bride are among ones that I would watch as soon as I saw them on.
What is your favorite genre of music? I'm a fan of rock, both classic and modern. Occasionally, I'll be in the mood for something harder, but times like that are rare these days.
Biggest pet-peeve with fanfiction? Out-of-character portrayals. A challenge with fan-fiction is to place a character in a situation and try to determine how that character would solve it, not how we would solve it if we had the character's abilities. I also see this a lot in Slash (and please don't think I'm bashing it, I've read some really well-written slash fics). Some writers seem to think that one character has to be extra fruity in order to portray the romance. It annoys me to no end.
Favorite beverage? Coffee. Seriously, I can't get through the day without it. Aside from that, I mostly drink water.
Favorite kind of romance story (fanfiction, novel, or television, your choice)? That's a tough one for me since I'm not much for romance. I have to say the Mick/Beth drama in Moonlight was probably my favorite.
Favorite video game? I grew up with the evolution of video games, from Atari to the Playstation. I always loved the Final Fantasy saga. A close second, though, would be Warcraft. I canceled my account about a year ago to free up time to write. I sometimes miss it, but just don't have the time for it.
Describe your perfect day: I'm relatively easy to please. It would probably start with a cup of Gevalia Mocha coffee and an omelet with a side of bacon. I'd like it to be nice out so that I can take my daughter to the park and playground. After that, probably during naptime, I'd either curl up with a good book or spend some time writing. The evening would be a nice dinner with the Mr and the little one and then just relaxing with a movie.
Favorite Broadway production? It's a close tie between Phantom, Wicked, and Riverdance. Working for a venue that shows these productions has been an amazing experience.

What is your name? Suhaila Aside from Ben 10, what is one show that you make sure to never miss? Samantha Who? (I love House, and Heroes, too, and the CSI franchises, but I only have time to see Samantha Who?) Ben 10 fan for how long? Since the premiere of Ben10AF. I watched a bit of Ben 10, but never really got into it for some reason. Maybe it was because I felt it was a little too young for me. What do you do for a living? Student at a university in Malaysia. When did you discover fanfiction? When my friend (HHr shipper in HP) convinced me to read a few stories there. I was hooked ever since. Do you prefer romantic fics or action-based fics? Both, and they must be well-written! However, I only write romance, and when it comes to B10, I write angst!Gwevin. I find it easier, and for some reason action doesn't sit well with me. What other fandoms do you dabble in besides B10? Cartoons: MSB, PPG, Totally Spies, Jimmy Neutron Anime: Wallflower, Black Cat, Paradise Kiss, Saiunkoku Monogatari Books: HP, Twilight, The Secret Garden, The Witch of Blackbird Pond Movies: The Princess Diaries How long have you been writing (if applicable)? I started fanfiction back in 2002 *gasp*. I do, however, want to write my own novel, although I want to be a doctor even more. What are several unforgettable movies, in your opinion? The two I really remember are Stardust and Odd Girl Out. Beautiful movies, in my opinion. Also, Gattacca and Snow Falling on Cedars. What is your favorite genre of music? I tend to listen to lots of different varieties, but I think I'd choose rock. Biggest pet-peeve with fanfiction? Toss up between out of character portrayals and character bashing without reason. Both kill me. Hate them. Favorite beverage? Milk... :3 Favorite kind of romance story (fanfiction, novel, or television, your choice)? All kinds work for me. However, I do love Zutara (for the angst), Harmony (for the sweet friends-into-lovers transitions) and Train/Saya (for the I'll-never-forget-you love/friendship). Favorite video game? Don't really play video games... :S Describe your perfect day: An empty schedule and me free to do whatever I want! Favorite Broadway production? Wicked was lovely. I also enjoyed We Will Rock You.

I forgot to enter the last question... What is your favourite book? Oh! I read The Truth About Forever, by Sarah Dessen. It was beautiful. I'll add more when I can remember the titles of the books I love... There's too many anyways.

What is your name? Melanie
Aside from Ben 10, what is one show that you make sure to never miss? House
Ben 10 fan for how long? Got obsessive around the time I moved back in with my parents, which was right before Thanksgiving, I think.
What do you do for a living? Unemployed, and I hate it, but being 7 months pregnant it's a bit difficult to find work.
When did you discover fanfiction? I saw them on nick.com at first.
Do you prefer romantic fics or action-based fics? I like both, but I spend more time searching for romance based ones.
What other fandoms do you dabble in besides B10? Codename: Kids Next Door, Jimmy Neutron (that's the one that got me obsessed with fandons/fanfiction in the first place), House (haven't written anything, though...not very good with anything medical)
How long have you been writing (if applicable)? As far as fanfiction, since 7th grade (...6 or 7 years ago). Writing in general for fun, 2nd grade.
What are several unforgettable movies, in your opinion? The Princess Bride, Seven, Pan's Labrynth, Phantom of the Opera, and The Dark Knight (mainly for Joker)
What is your favorite genre of music? Give me a musical, and I'll be happy. But not quiet.....
Biggest pet-peeve with fanfiction? Romantic pairings with OCs involved. I can barely stomach most OCs as it is (mainly those ones you can tell so easily are based off of the writer themselves), but they're much easier to take when they're not paired with a canon character
Favorite beverage? Rose black tea. I'm addicted, and I haven't had it in months (and there's no where to get it out here...well, I suppose if I went to Houston, but that's 2 hours away)
Favorite kind of romance story (fanfiction, novel, or television, your choice)? I used to love denial, but I'm seriously addicted to the way they've done Gwen/Kevin...they're right on that cliff the whole time, and you know they're not ready to jump yet, but because they don't fight it, you don't mind so much.
Favorite Video Game? Knights of the Old Republic. I love that game.
Describe your perfect day: Seriously, starts with pancakes. I love pancakes. Add in having the baby (so this day will not be possible until late May/early June), and playing with him before hopefully catching a new cartoon while he naps. Finish the day with a medium rare steak and I'm good to go. (...I'm a bit food obsessed...)
Favorite Broadway production? I've never been to Broadway, so the only experiences I had were in Vegas. Phantom was amazing, though (they even had the theater specially built so they could have the chandelier over the audience...so when it drops down, it stops just short of hitting you. Scared the heck outta me)
What is your favourite book?Hmm...I read a lot, so ...well, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson probably takes the cake.
Favorite place to visit? I want to go back to Vegas...Cris is there, and I just fit in better there....I have some ideals that are considered kind of weird out here.
Site you spend most of your day on? I jump forum to forum to post randomly...a lot of time on facebook lately.

What is your best writing condition? I actually bounce up and down in my chair when I really like how the writing's turning out. Depressing fics I need to sit in the dark and write after I've taken a shower, but the really funny scenes I'm so far hunched over my computer that I look like I'm deformed, and there's usually candy near by, and afterwards I'm ridiculously hyper, especially if it really did turn out funny.
Weirdest plot idea you've ever come up with? Definitely the one shot I did for the "Food" part of the 100 theme challenge. It's one of my favorites that I've done, but it seriously ended up really crazy....if you haven't read it, it has Julie talking to Ben about his unhealthy eating habits, trying to get him to stop eating so many chili fries. This evolves into a discussion on how chili fries are being enjoyed by everyone (therefore "cheating" on Ben), and that chili fries will never change for him, unless it's to add cheese. I'm such a weird person.

What is your favourite book? I can't name one book as my absolute favorite. I have too many! I have a few favorite authors though. Tim Dorsey is amusing and I love R.A. Salvatore (his series with Drizzt is great).
Favorite place to visit? Ireland. The last time I was there was about ten years ago and I've wanted to go back ever since.
Site you spend most of your day on? I usually have at least four tabs open at a time. My e-mail is always open and there are a couple message boards that I frequent. Aside from that, I'll either be browsing Failblog, checking my Facebook, or just adding random funny pictures to my photobucket.
Early bird or Night owl? My preference is Night Owl. I worked midnight shift for a few years before my daughter was born. Even now, when I have to be up at 0500 for work, I usually don't go to bed until at least 2300.
Favorite story that you yourself have written (regular story, fanfiction, poem...anything)? "Lost and Found" It was a sequel to my first fic and I was so happy with how it turned out. I count it as my best piece ever.
What is your ideal writing condition? I have to have music that goes with the type of scene that I'm writing.
Weirdest plot idea you've ever come up with? That's a tough one. Most of my stuff is pretty straightforward. Trying to combine two completely different vampire myths was challenging, but not necessarily weird. I think the closest thing I can come up with was a round-robin story a friend of mine did in high school. It was just one of those bored-in-PreCalc things and we ended up writing a six page story about "JoeBoo and the Ganipinabs"
How do you usually get past writer's block? Taking a day or two away from the project sometimes helps. It took me two weeks to get through the fight scene in "Lost and Found" but it was worth the delay. Aside from that, I tend to analyze the situation and find out why I'm having the block. If I can determine the reason, then I can try to resolve it.

Early Bird or Night Owl? I can be either, but I tend to gravitate towards Night Owl while I'm not working. When I'm working or doing school, I end up as an Early Bird (wake me up at the exact same time two days in a row, and the 3rd day I will wake up at the exact same time, or earlier, automatically)
Favorite story that you yourself have written (regular story, fanfiction, poem...anything)? I'm pretty pleased with how Mask is turning out...(although it's not as popular as Lessons In Maturity for some reason...guess people prefer humor or don't like alternate universe as much)
What is your best writing condition?
How do you usually get past writer's block? The thing with me is, my 'writer's block' is usually just an unwillingness to sit down and write because I have no ideas. I've found that if I sit down and force myself to start writing, the ideas start flowing right then and there.
How do you find yourself as a reviewer? I actually have two names on ff.net specifically because of this. My usual identity is just too nice...I have a hard time with critiques, so I often only reply to stories that I don't think really need help, or need very little help (just small suggestions like "more detail", etc.). I haven't used the other name in a while, but I can be a lot meaner on that one...I do not flame, but I get picky. I feel like a different person under that name. It's very weird (I do avoid it...I can be a bit too mean under that name, and I'd just rather not lately)

How do you find yourself as a reviewer? I hate sugar-coating things and I'm too opinionated for my own good. However, even if the story needs serious work, I'll try to find at least one good thing to say about it. I'll open it with that and then add my critique in the middle, then finish with something positive. The thing to realize is that we writers have fragile egos and it's very easy to step on them. I try to be nice about it and I'll usually note in my critique that it's not a flame.
How do you handle a poor review from a reader? It depends on the review. If it's obviously just a flame without any content to it, then I'll ignore it. If it's got honest critique, then I'll make sure to thank the reviewer for the suggestions. I try to respond to every review I receive just to let the reader know that I appreciate him/her taking the time to read and review.

How do you handle a poor review from a reader? Well, see, the nice thing about doing mainly romance is that the only people reading your story are ones that like the pairings you write, and they're less likely to give you a poor review. The last poor review I got was just to tell me to check my Biology because if such and such amount of years had passed, then there was no way the girl was pregnant. I laughed that off, because it was the only reader who didn't realize I was implying the characters had continued a sexual relationship before their marriage.
What makes you stop to check out a fanfiction? I'm a scanner....I start off with just reading for my favorite pairing, and from there, I move on to other stories, often reading what my nicest reviewers have written (especially if they leave long reviews. Then I usually check out their stories, and if they're good, I leave a nice review on their page, too).

What makes you stop to check out a fanfiction? The first thing I look at is Genre. I'm not big on Angst and usually, I'm not into romance. Humor, action, and horror usually cause me to stop and take a look at the summary and reviews. Occasionally, if a romantic fic looks good, then I'll give it a chance, but I have to be in the mood for it.
Is there a certain type of fic (pairing, genre, etc) that you won't read? Not really. Again, I have to be in the mood for it if I'm going to read romance or slash, but I'm willing to give almost anything a chance.

Is there a certain type of fic (pairing, genre, etc) that you won't read? Hmm..I can't think of any. I'm sure there are some, but if the story looks good, I'll check into it, regardless of pairings or genre, but I can be hesitant about angst, especially if it's a usually happy character who's angsting. Those bother me a bit.
Last good fanfiction you read recently? Thinking of You by cascade88 is the most recent one (being earlier today). It's Gwen/Ben, and it's good.
