So, this is the second time I've stumbled across this news, and the sources seem reliable: "Ben 10 adventures will be continuing in Ben 10: Alien Swarm, a previously announced live-action movie, directed by Alex Winter, which premieres fall 2009; and Ben 10: Evolutions (working title) - where the adventures of Ben (16-years-old) continue. From Cartoon Network Studios." (Full article can be found here: www.comicmix.com/news/2009/03/26/cartoon-network-announces-2009-2010-plans/ ) Opinions? Excited? I wonder if they consider it a 3rd series or if it's just adding on another year to Ben, Gwen and Kevin's age and just changing the name? I can't find much more...apparently there's one more season of Alien Force (according to rumors, I do not guarantee this to be fact), and then it'll go to being Evolutions in 2010.

Interesting.
Well, I'm glad to see that they're continuing the series. One of the things I've noticed, mainly in cartoons, is that they'll keep the characters the same age forever. So, I'm not sure if they're going to up their age for the next season or not. I'll be interested to see where it goes anyway.
I'm a little confused about Evolutions, though. The article was kind of sketchy about it. Is it the title of the new season or do you think they're already planning another movie? They've been hyping up Alien Swarm a lot, so maybe they're banking on it being a success.
Either way, I'll be watching to find out.

All I hope is that they countinue the Ben 10 stuff. What I really do not want is a T.V. show like Ben 10,000. I like the age the characters are right now. I just hope they add more crude humor and make it more 'teenager-ish'. I find it almost OOC that Kevin never swears! He seems like a guy that would drop swear words every now and then.

I agree. I actually keep expecting him to swear and then he doesn't. The thing to keep in mind is that this is intended as a kid's show. While a lot of us, myself included, are a bit older than the target age group, I don't think Cartoon Network would have as much success with it if they made it more mature.
As it stands, I've only seen one episode that I don't feel comfortable letting my five-year-old daughter watch (she loves the show too) and that was Tuesday's new episode.
Then again, that's why we have fan-fiction. We can add in the words that we all know Kevin really wants to use lol.

Yeah...Kevin really does seem the cursing type, doesn't he? I at the very least keep expecting him to say "hell" or "damn it". But I really don't want curse words in cartoons. Gay couples? Yes. Swearing? No. I'm already trying to break myself of the habit before baby comes...
Anyways, from what I read, Evolutions is supposed to be technically considered a new series, to follow AF. One of the other rumors circulating (bear in mind, rumor, I do not guarantee this) is that in Evolutions, Ben's secret will be out. That's right, people will know about him being all hero aliens. So, that plus him being 16 would be the changes from Alien Force.
I keep expecting to see something where they make Kevin go back to school. They're really hush-hush about it...I'm guessing he doesn't go to school, but they don't want to put it in there because it 'might set a bad example'.

I think the only time I really worry about censoring myself is when my daughter's around. It takes practice and I've had to do the last minute switches (like shi... sugar! and things like that) more times than I care to admit.
Back on topic, the new series does sound interesting. Let's hope it lives up to expectations.
I don't think they'll ever put Kevin back in school. It's generally assumed he doesn't go, but I agree they don't want to mention it.

I'm sure it will...it can't be that different from Alien Force, right?...right? Oh, great, now I'm paranoid. Well, we'll just have to see.

Ok, I've been reading through the second link that was posted in Daily today and Evolutions is going to take place AFTER the next season of Alien Force (which will have 20 Episodes - page 44).
It's earlier in the thread when he mentions the AF and Evolution timeline.

So, the 3rd season is the last for AF? Wow. Because at the forum (OK, I'm only up to the Q330 page (long way to go to 95), there was hope that maybe if enough of us continued watching AF, then they'd continue with a 4th season, but I suppose this kind of messes it up (and causes my story to become AU-ish). Just wow. But I'll look forward to whenever I can see it. (Which will be at least 2 years later, when I'm 19 and I become one of the oldest in the bunch... )

Yeah, and the movie is said to be canon, and taking place after the third season.
Don't feel bad about the age. I'm 28 and still watch cartoons. lol

Lol, you watch them with your daughter, which is adorable. I, on the other hand, watch them on my sister's laptop, downloading them, by myself in a dark room and headphones (just sad) since it's official: my parents have cancelled the Fun package. No more cartoons... Must download and watch. Oh well, just my luck. I console myself that the characters are the same age as I am - well, Kevin was 16 in 2008 (when AF first started to air) like me... (Ignoring the fact that he was 11 in 2005 and that whenever B10E comes out he'll be younger again... Darn... ) Hmmm, speaking of the movie being canon and the movie will be the last canon episode for AF, I wonder if that means that Elena will become a permanent fixture in B10E, and whether Julie will still be in it? Hmmm... Questions.

Well, who knows? Technically, yes, only one more season of AF (this makes me sad), but the characters get to keep going after being aged only one year, so that's pretty cool, too.
I wonder if they're going to do the 'what if' episodes for AF, too? Those were always kind of neat...

If they're going to do that, they have to do one with Evil!Kevin. You do not come up with What-if episodes that don't have at least one Evil!Kevin. What is my obsession with evil!Kevin? Seriously... Haha, I privately wish they continue with more AF... But the title of B10E sounds cool - I wonder what kind of episodes there will be... And most of all, if Julie is around, would her parents trust her with Ben now that he's that superstar hero whatever? Adults distrust him, if I remember reading, and I'm not quoting incorrectly...

Evil!Kevin is awesome. I don't know why, he just is.
I'm thinking we may see the start of them building the futuristic city that was in Ben 10,000. That would be cool. (I'm just speculating. I can, and I often am, be wrong)
