Haha. Kevin isn' totally good. Since Ben 10 is the main protagonist in the series, you don't really see him slip off for some alien tech deal, do you? I know he doesn't seem like slipping off nowadays, but remember, they don't spend all their time with Kevin, and Kevin can be pretty scheming and ingenious when he chooses to be. SO I like to think that he's toned it down, but may still lapse occasionally, kind of like when you're on a diet. Anyway, Kevin was going to be good after he reconciled with his mom and the plumber stories. Helping Ben and Gwen was a start to this (and Gwen was - well, I don't want to call her an incentive, but she was a good motivator... ), and was the best way to keep him on track, but I think he would have, gradually. But I guess it depends on your interpretation? Maybe the romance was rushed, but I could sort of see him thinking about becoming good, and being struck by fascination with Gwen he decides to stay good? Although, not so good (alien tech deals are a good source of income, and we still see that scheming side of Kevin).

Well, they sort of ironed out the rushed "Kevin's good now - whoa!" thing by revealing that his father was a Plumber. (God, I hope they show more on that. That'd just be really cool to see). No, Kevin's not completely a good guy (stealing from other Plumber's kids? Come on), he's more the anti-hero. He's not completely good, nor is he a bad guy.
As for why he latched on to Gwen so quickly...I can't say for sure. It was a bit rushed, but how many people have reached out to Kevin, even when they've known he was a bad guy? (Ben in the Ben 10 retro doesn't count, because he didn't know Kevin was going to be bad). I think at first it was just a physical attraction, but that the more he sees of her, the deeper he falls.

That would explain it. After all, Gwen really 'blossomed' (corny word, I know), and he hadn't seen a girl in ages (in the Null Void - no, I don't think there are many human girls there). And she accepted him faster than Ben (sort of).
Anyway, isn't that how most romances start - a spark of attraction (physical/emotional/mental/spiritual)? It may seem more superficial than most, but it doesn't make it any less real, especially considering how attached to each other they both seem to be now.

Exactly. The first step in the attraction is almost always physical.

Oh I read that. I clicked on your link and I like Mr. McDuffie. I laughed whenever he replyed back to someone who was rude. I like him. He's got charecter. And I would have written a similar response to something as rude from that Bwen viewer. I was temtped to write back. I just wished that they didn't just skip a few weeks every few episodes. It seemed like the relationship was too rushed. I wished they had episodes where they built up on it more instead of just slapping that shipping in our faces. They basically hit us with a gigantic mallet of "Gwevin". But I still love it.

Hmm...I'm hoping the 'rough season' doesn't mean they'll break up (then again, Kevin seems to have a rough time admitting he likes her, so maybe she just starts putting him back on the spot to ask her out again...). LOVE that we'll get more on his powers....thanks for the info!

This is kind of bothering me...have you guys been on ff.net lately? It seems that Gwevin is currently the minority of fanfics. This makes me sad.

I noticed. I see a lot of Bwen and only a few Gwevin. I might have to add a touch of Gwevin to my fics from here on out, just for you

Hooray!
....yeah, Bwen seems most popular these days, followed by Bevin....last time I checked, the stories on the first page well...I think 2 were Gwevin, about 5 were Bevin and the rest were all Bwen (....I think there was only one that had no romance in it)

This is where I wonder if I should try my hand at romance. I surprised myself today, though. I actually had an idea for a romance/angst song-fic. That's so far out of my comfort zone, it's not even funny.

You're a talented writer, I'd love to see how you do it. Plus I love song fics, when they're done well. Besides, Gwevin needs the love.

Well, it's not exactly Gwevin (although seeing as how Kevie is cooped up in the hospital, Gwen is sure to start acting more concerned).
It came to me on my way home from work when I was listening to "Eclipsed" by Evans Blue. Planned to be Ben/Karian from Karian's POV.

I'd still like to see your romance, regardless of pairing (besides, I like Ben/Karian).
And there's no need to go overboard with romance. I see partial hinting in your stories (the way Kevin and Gwen interact being a lot kinder than how he treats everyone else) that fits within how the show would really do it. Nothing too major...although if House thinks they're going out it proves something's there (and it's good they're not all over each other. In House's world if Gwen's too concerned, it means she cheated on him....)

Good point.
I try to add a little bit in here and there, but not enough to distract from the main plot/genre.
I'll consider the songfic, though. Depends on how much it decides to annoy me into writing it *laughs*
