Ouch. Alright, now I have a better understanding.
My family has this thing that anyone I bring home is automatically a bad person. No idea why, but that's just how they think.
I'd talk to your dad anyway. Even if you're mom is against the idea, he might have a say in the matter. And given the fact that your boyfriend is the child's father, you should have a good amount of say in the matter as well. Just my two cents though.
Brandon sounds like a wonderful name. My daughter is named Rhiannon.

Mom just never got over the fact that none of us (she has 3 girls...I have my half sister and my full sister) ever fell for one of her best friend's sons (She has 5 boys. I guess she thought she had good odds). She doesn't ever approve of a guy until after my sisters break it off with them. She's *never* approved of any of my boyfriends, but I am the youngest, so that might be why.
Dad is...well, honestly, my dad does not contradict my mother's opinions unless it's towards something he is doing. It's very frustrating.
I have a linear argument, one that would best prove my points, but I need to catch her at a time where she's less likely to interrupt me.
Rhiannon? That's so pretty!

Yeah, mine never got over the fact that I didn't take her side when she and my dad got divorced. She's not even coming to my wedding because it's at my dad's. I wish you the best of luck there. Hopefully she'll be able to see reason on that. And thank you. She was named after a Celtic goddess Edit: I'm off duty a few minutes early. I might be around later this evening though after the munchkin goes to bed.

Ah. That's pretty tough...she should support your marriage, it's kind of sad she won't come around for that.
Do you already have your dress? You said May 2nd, right? That's the day before my parents' anniversary, which is also my grandmother's birthday.

Yeah, there are more than a few issues with her.
I do have my dress already. I got it a couple months ago and it's at the tailors now getting sheer sleeves added to it. I should have it by the end of this month. We're doing just about everything ourselves. We decided to go with faux flowers, so the bouquets and boutonnieres are already made. The headpieces (for me and my flower girls) are floral wreaths with white rose and ivy leaves.

Nothing wrong with faux flowers...you can even keep them afterwards for forever, so I'd say they're better than real flowers. And that all sounds so pretty! How long have you and your fiance been together?

It'll be five years next month.
I can post pics when I get the dress back from the tailor's. And you can bet there will be a ton of wedding pics.
By the way, it's nice to see some color to the board now.

Wow, that's amazing! Congratulations! When did he propose?
Ooh, I love looking at wedding dresses. And I'd love to see the wedding pictures.
Yeah...it took a lot of work *laughs*....I kept messing up, and for a short while the board looked like a watermelon. When I fixed that, the text wasn't readable in some places...I think it looks good this way (plus I'm scared to mess with it too much again...)

Well, we had been talking about it for a while. He's not the really romantic or surprising type, so we discussed it, I picked out the ring, and he gave it to me for Valentine's last year when we got back from dinner.

Hey, nothing wrong with that. Plus at least you knew for sure that you'd like the ring ^_-

Yep. I'm practical about it. The ring cost about $150. If he had spent more on it than that, I would have yelled at him.
Gotta step out of the office for a bit but I should be back in about an hour.

Looks like I just missed you when I hopped into the shower. Oh well. At least I was able to get a new chapter of Mask up on here (it'll be on ff.net later...probably tomorrow)

I'll read it before I head out. I have to finish up some paperwork first.
