Hi Melanie... Anyway, since this is the introduction thread I'll introduce myself. My name is Suhaila, but people call me Sue. You may have come across me in FF.net under my username Gilraen Narmolanya. How about y'all?

Good morning Sue.
Anywhere outside of work, I go by Lasa. I actually use the same name everywhere I wander on the internet, including FFNet.

You're exactly twelve hours ahead of me. It's 10 am here in Philadelphia.

Oooh, cool! I've been to Philadelphia, actually. Last year. I visited Penn State (or was it UPenn? I get confused! ). Was thinking about med school there. Myself was an Ohio-born who moved with her parents back to Malaysia.

Cool. I grew up in Delaware, moved around the country for about five years, and then came back with my fiance and daughter.
It was great chatting with you. I have to step out of the office for a little while, but I'll be back in about an hour and a half.

Haha, OK... I wish I could stay though, but I've class tomorrow. I'll try and be online when I can though, but university keeps me busy.

Malaysia? That's pretty cool. and you happen to be one of my favorite authors on ff.net, so that's a bonus point right there ^_-
I tend to go by destinyinevitable, but that attracts a following mainly built up by friends (who weren't very honest in their reviews), so I changed the name. I was born in Kansas, raised in Texas, lived in Nevada for five years and now I'm back in Texas.

During the five years I was away from the east coast, I spend almost three years in Dodge City, Kansas. My fiance is originally from Texas with friends in Beaumont and family near Dallas. We might be moving down to Seagoville next summer.

Wow. Look at all the connecting points....
I spend too much time online...but good news, the 2nd glucose screening test came back normal, so I don't have gestational diabetes (I failed the first test...just a bit too high). My finger's numb from them pricking it so many times, though.

Great news there!
Is this your first child? If you need advice, or even someone to vent to, let me know. I only have one, but she's five and a half now.

Yep, this is my first one. I'm only 19, so some people are giving me kind of funny looks. I was kind of happy that a girl's husband in the waiting room today thought that I worked there, not that I was pregnant (baggy shirts are wonderful...especially this one, since it has the Hairspray and Wicked logos on it...)
And thanks, I really appreciate that. I've got my mom, but she's uh...hard to talk to. Plus she's not a big fan of my boyfriend, so that just makes things so much worse.

I was only a couple years older than you when I had my daughter, I was 21 when I got pregnant and 22 when she was born. My family wasn't thrilled either, but they were here on the coast and I was in Kansas.
Definitely not something to go through alone or without a friendly ear. Good luck.

Well, lemme put it in complete perspective (I'm just venting here, I apologize):
My parents were surprisingly okay with me being pregnant. Heck, mom admitted to expecting it the minute I moved in with my boyfriend. Fair enough, that didn't bother me. But we were living in Nevada at the time, which got hit on a pretty collosal scale by the recession. I quit my job (stupid me...I knew I'd be moving back in with my family, so my motivation to stay wasn't there when my manager told me I needed to start leaving my problems at home. The problem that was interfering with my work? Extreme amounts of pain that I was seriously mistaking for a miscarriage. I got upset and quit).
Flash forward about two months or so, and I'm given a choice....Dad has a job waiting for him in Texas. I can go with my parents, or stay with my boyfriend...who does not make enough money to support me (he is trying). I put in applications pretty frantically (I think it totaled over 10) but I never heard anything back on them. Well, then there was the fact that by going with my parents, I'd have an easier time going back to school. So I came with my dad.
Cris (my boyfriend) wants to come out for the birth. I want him here. My mom told me to ask dad if he could stay with us. Well, she went behind my back to my half-sister and told her that there was no way they were going to let him stay here, and that she was trying to get me to go out with her best friend's oldest son. My mom is still in Nevada (she just has to stay until March 28th in order to be vested), but I'm pretty angry with her. I'm waiting for her to come back to talk to her about it in person.
Okay, rant over. But I'm having a little boy. First name Brandon....still don't have a middle name picked out.
