Only a few days late this time lol. It's going to be a busy month, both with work and family. Does anyone have any major plans this year? We took my daughter to the parade in Dallas on Saturday and she enjoyed it. Thankfully, it wasn't too cold.

Yeah, it'll be a busy month for me too. I'm balancing schoolwork and basketball right now, not to mention plans with family and friends.
This Saturday I went to the Dickens Fair with some friends. It was great seeing so many people dressed up in Victorian garb, speaking with British accents and calling everyone "ladies" or "gentlemen". One of the staff members even stopped us once and asked us what three ladies were doing walking around alone like that. Then the one guy in our group raised his hand and the man congratulated us for our gentleman escort, apologizing for not having seen him. It was fantastic. Plus we got fish and chips, which is always really good.

Yeah, work is switching me over to a new campaign in January - they're losing their contract with their current client for where I am presently. Hopefully that works out well. Also, The Walking Dead is an awesome series.
Still just watching cartoons, playing with my son and spending time with the boyfriend lately. ...that's pretty much it, but you know what? It's kind of awesome. Eventually I'll write more...I think.

I may have almost talked my boss into a promotion. nothing is official yet and won't be until the 1st of the year, but if it works out, I'll have a shiny new title for my resume and more money in my paycheck. At least my hourly rate will be more if this goes through. I'm working a lot of overtime still until they get people hired. It's been one day off each week for the past month and this week, I'm on a 13 day stretch.
I'm thinking of the paycheck though. It's making it worth it.

Thanks I don't think I'd ever be able to do the whole "stay at home mom" thing. I hate housework and I like my job.

Good luck with getting the promotion, Lasa.
The basketball season has started out well. We lost our first game, but we won our second game by 12 points. There's a game coming up on Monday, which will be our last game for December. Always a shame that there are so few games in December though it gives the newer players a chance to hone their skills.

Congrats on winning the second game and good luck in the next one It's been a rough week for me. Had some issues with the house after the roof was replaced that we're still trying to fix and working so many hours is starting to catch up with me. I also got into it with my shift partner today and ended up pretty angry by the time I left the office. I have to work half the shift with him tomorrow, so hopefully it'll go better than it did today. I'm back with my regular crew on Monday, thankfully. I rarely have to work with this guy anymore, but it seems that we clash almost every time we're scheduled together. In slightly better news, I decided that we were going to use solar-powered lights on the house this year for the holidays and we hadn't tested them before today. My husband got them put up and they work! So, now we have a green solution for holiday lighting that won't affect my electric bill.

Yay green solutions! I've got a shiny disc of the Generator Rex episodes I've missed, courtesy of the boyfriend (thank goodness he ended up liking it, too). Still mainly working. Really need to write, but I'm having a lot of trouble doing so lately. I lack focus. Took pictures this weekend - Brandon was not terribly pleased and refused to let go of me for most of the time, so we didn't get many of him by himself.

You wouldn't be able to send me a copy of that disc would you? I've missed a few for various reasons. Our heat got fixed today and I was right about it.. the roofers did cause the problem. The tech found shingles in the pipe that were blocking the fan. But, at least it's fixed now. The Mr. got up early this morning and brought me coffee in bed at 4:45am too. I've been trying to write for a while now too, Mel. It's just finding the time and energy to do it. I have a lot I want to do with this fic and the next one, but there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get it done.

Good to hear that the heat's been fixed.
Ditto on the writing. I've got a lot I want to write, but no time to write. Fortunately once school gets out Friday, I should have a lot more time. If I'm not distracted by Buffy, which is what's been keeping me from writing on my weekends (besides homework).

Lol. You know, Vladimir Putin just named his new puppy "Buffy". True story.
I have one more day and then I get two days off (for once). Next week I'm back to six days a week, though. Paychecks came in today and the 30 hours of overtime looked very nice. It's also been confirmed that I'm getting that promotion and a raise, effective December 27th.

Congrats on the raise and promotion Today was my sister's birthday. She turned 16. Besides singing 'Happy Birthday' as loudly as we could at school during lunch, we haven't done much yet. In an hour or two, we'll be eating Chinese food (her favorite) and opening presents.
