So, I've almost made it through a whole week without smoking. It still sucks, but the cravings are starting to lessen.
I got home from work yesterday morning and no sooner did I get in the door, my husband called me outside. Apparently, a stray dog decided he wanted to be friends. He had no collar or anything, but he was very friendly. We discussed the issue yesterday and this morning since the dog is currently in our backyard.
Unfortunately, we can't keep him. Shade is up to 52 pounds and we just don't have room for another one, so we're turning him over to the shelter today. Hopefully, they can find a good home for him.

Glee was awesome this week.
Yay, Lasa, you can do it!
Aww, poor puppy, but it's great that you're going to get it help rather than just ignoring it.
I'm in a very, very, very good mood these days. Kind of goofy, really. But is that a bad thing? Sort of, because as I mentioned in a different part of the board I'm writing this right now instead of cleaning like I need to be. (stupid water shutting off on my other day off, so I can't just put it off until then >.<)
...what was I about to do? Oh. Right. Finish the kitchen. Be back on later!

Thanks for the encouragement. My husband apparently fails at math and was telling a mutual friend that I'm on day 4. *facepalm*
Well, the lady from the local shelter picked up the stray today. She even let him ride shotgun in the animal control truck. I talked to her for a few minutes because I was worried about him being euthanized since the shelter isn't a "no kill" one. She mentioned that she didn't think there would be a problem finding him a new home and that she has 8 dogs at her house because she hates seeing good animals put down for no reason. This is also the same person that was working there when we adopted Shade, so she was happy to see how well he's been doing.
I meant to clean the bathroom today. It didn't happen.

Tsk, tsk. Tell your hubbie he fails.
Glad to hear it. I hope he gets adopted by a nice, sweet family. Yeah, I haven't finished the laundry today. So. Yeah. There's like 2 loads left and I'm just not feeling it anymore. I'll do it at about 9 or so, to make sure it's done before my parents get home.
"I Dreamed a Dream" is now stuck in my head.

I hope the puppy ends up in a good home.
Lasa, congrats on the almost-a-week without smoking. You can do it!
Tomorrow I'm going to drop by my old middle school. It's been a while since I've gone there and since the teachers were all really cool, I enjoy visiting. Next year the history teacher and principal (probably the coolest principal I've ever had and also the easiest to actually talk to) are both leaving, so hopefully they'll be there when I come.

Thanks Dragonelf. Made it through the first week without mauling anyone, so I guess so far so good.
I think I visited my old high school once since I graduated. I did, however, recently find out that their entire music department is going to be the casualty of budget cuts along with Home Ec and Shop classes. It makes me sad because the majority of my electives in high school were music-related.

It was fun to see my old teachers again, but there were some awkward pauses in conversation. Well, I guess that's what happens as we move on through life. I still managed to spend about 40 minutes talking to various teachers before my mom told me we had to go.
Congrats on the week without smoking!

I went back to my old Elementary school once after I was about to graduate 8th grade. I just stared around and went "...did the ceilings get lower?" It felt almost surreal, really.
...whoosh.
...it's what I say when I run out of things to say.

Talked to my boss today and in a couple of weeks, I'll be switching over to third shift. I'm going to be working a ton of overtime this summer too because a lot of people are taking time off. However, the shift change will give me more time with my daughter since I'll be home in the evenings.
I couldn't find a site to stream tonight's hockey game live, but I was able to get an audio stream off of the Flyers website. So far, it's 3-1 with the Flyers winning. If they win tonight, they're going to the Stanley Cup finals.
This pleases me.

I tried my hand at a Mytrax one-shot yesterday. It was... different, but very enjoyable to write. Once I'm done editing (probably tomorrow since Mondays are always busy days for homework), I'll put it up.
In other news... well I actually don't have any.

Went to work and suddenly felt awful...my manager wasn't there (I'm starting to greatly dislike him) but the features manager was, and he let me leave (my manager would have done a ten minute "umm...I don't know. Are you sure you're sick?" thing...really starting to hate the guy. When I ask him for info on a phone I'll check back in with him 2 minutes later - some info's not on the site, wasn't covered in training and we're not allowed to use google and we have to check in with customers at least every 3 minutes - and he'll go "...oh yeah, I haven't checked that yet, give me a second. I'm ready to quit...or at least throw something at him. The other manager is also a lot more understanding that not all poors are our fault. He knows that some could have been avoided, but he's more likely to go 'yeah, that person was stupid, they shouldn't have given you that one').
So I'm at home right now and my head is killing me. I told them I'd try to come in on Saturday to make up the hours, but I forgot that mom works this Saturday so won't be able to watch Brandon. Screw it, I am *literally* the only person on the team who always gets their 40 hours and doesn't constantly leave early. If they want to get mad at me...well, honestly, I'm looking for another job right now. I hate it that much, but I can't stand the idea of quitting if I don't have a new job lined up.
...end rant.
