I was browsing Dwayne Mcduffie's website and found some interesting things on this final battle.
Just some stuff apparently the Ultimatrix can "evolve the aliens" or something idk this is just some stuff ill keep posting if new things emerge

I agree, if its a giant squid..maybe he inks them do death?? If they make him a squid..why dont they just put ben in an old timey Japanese karate outfit and give him epic spiked blond hair. Benku..I like it.

Overall, 6.5 out of 10.
There was a lot of action in it and I was happy to see Psycho!Vilgax again. I also have a soft spot for Albedo, so it was good to see him make an appearance. I wasn't the least bit surprised that Vilgax didn't hold his end of the bargain.
The alien evolution bit bothered me. It was definitely a little too Pokemon-esque for my tastes, but there is some potential if the writers continue along that path. Although, Vilgax and his umpteen million robots reminded me of Star Wars, Attack of the Clones.
The biggest thing that bothered me is that we are left to assume that Albedo went down with the ship. I can't believe that Ben wouldn't either try to save him or be upset at his demise. It seemed a bit out of character for the Ben that we know. They seem to assume that Vilgax is alive, but I don't recall them mentioning what happened to Albedo. I can't see Vilgax trying to save him. Maybe I missed something though.
I did, however, like the fact that Ben had the stones to blow up the Omnitrix and force Albedo's hand by nearly doing the same with the Ultimatrix.
All in all, it wasn't bad, but there were still a few wtf? moments. I can only hope that they do a decent job with Ultimate Aliens.

...*blink* So if Kevin had never seen Sumo Slammers before, why did he get as hyped about the movie as Ben did in the last season finale? He has to be familiar with the series, he and Ben's backstory involves them stealing a Sumo Slammers game, after all. Points for making fun of their own series with the whole "the bad guy joined the team. It just isn't very realistic, that's all I'm saying."
I didn't really like Ben getting all mopey. I get it, I felt bad for him, but at one moment I made my son jump because I literally screamed "stop being such a whiny baby and go do something." Grandpa Max is awesome. Speedo!Kevin is...both terrifying and awesome.
One thing I have to say is that the finales always deliver on action. The fight scenes are animated very well, and they're a lot more involved than the typical episode.
And as for the hug at the end, I know the point of them all looking at Kevin was an "aww, you really do care about Ben" moment, but I seriously thought for a second that someone was going to say "dude, no hugs until you put more clothes on."

I really liked the beginning when the Sumo Slammer series making fun of this series. Always great to see that a show can poke fun at itself.
The action was really great. I'm also glad Vilgax was the psychotic villain I love to see. Though the entire time Albedo and Vilgax were working together, I was waiting to see Vilgax betray Albedo. I was also happy to see Albedo again, doubly pleased that he had chili fries with him. I feel kinda bad now since I forgot about Albedo being on the ship until Lasa mentioned it. I suppose he probably used an escape pod to get out since I'm doubtful that the writers would just let him drown (at least I hope they didn't).
Grandpa Max was simply amazing like he always is. I'm also glad to see Kevin back to normal with his old powers.
Whiny Ben was not fun... I understand that losing the Omnitrix to Vilgax is bad, but I got annoyed really fast by Ben. Fortunately, he got over it fairly quickly. I don't know what I would have done if they had dragged it out. I have to applaud the fact that Ben was able to let the Omnitrix blow up and then almost the Ultimatrix.
Overall, I was mostly pleased with this episode.
Hopefully Ultimate Alien will be good... I was glad to hear that we'd only have to wait until April 23.

This episode was really cool. Vilgax was insane as ever. Ben + whine=  . I also thought it was kinda odd how Ben just now randomly unlocked the secret code words, also good to see Ben is keeping his old aliens, but can still evolve them. instead of just having the ultimate form. I wonder how they will play the whole Ben is now international hero thing since nothing was revealed about it in the final battle. Another thing i noticed is how Kevin mopped the floor with Vilgax with his OLD powers, but like in episodes with Ghostfreak and the one where Chromastone can fly he hgets owned by vilagx with his new powers. |

True, Kevin's old powers suddenly became all...dues ex machine-y. ...I play McDuffie, he has a bad habit of that (It makes about as much sense as the Chromastone Diamondhead thing last season finale...I don't care how many times he says it, IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.)

I was looking through Mcduffie's Q&A and apparently Azmuth told Ben the secret codes while they were out in the rain...

Yes. Yes I did. I was out of it when I posted. And really? REALLY? Then how come Ben did the first one BEFORE he and Azmuth met out in the rain, in order to get the watch off? You fail sometimes, Duffie. You fail. >.< (...But he does make me laugh in the episodes he writes, and he created Static Shock and worked on Justice League, so I can't ever hate the man)
