Color me shocked, I actually loved this one! It felt more like season 2, and they at least gave some continuity nods. Humor was great, too. "Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!". Azmuth is awesome, and Ben was slightly cocky in the more amusing way, without the "if he doesn't shut up, I hope Kevin goes back to being a sociopath and just decides to kill him..." flavor. And everyone was useful. I was biting my lip when Vilgax made the agreement, because I seriously thought "If he lets Ben go, too, he's become too lame for redemption..." and then he said "but you, Ben Tennyson, will die", I was like "YES! HE'S BACK AND HE'S SCARY AND THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!".
While it may not have fully restored my hope for the season, I am slightly more optimistic that the series can be saved from jumping the shark.

See, I loved this one too. Even my co-worker tonight said it was better than last week's. I laughed pretty hard at the "Stop hitting yourself" part.
I'd say this was the best one of the season so far.

That part was great especially when Kevin was like haha classic. But some of this episode totally contradicts season 2 ending and Ben 10 (The whole series) with saying the watch is a wireless router while Primus holds all the DNA, I think that would have been a much better explanation in the first place, but like in the B10 episode "Benwolf" if that had been true how would have the Loban's DNA gotten to Primus when it gave Ben it's DNA. I doubt it acted like a sender, just a reciever.

Maybe it has a send/receive function though. If Primus is missing samples for some reason, the Omnitrix can collect them. That's the only way I can think of for it to make sense and keep continuity. So far, there have been a few instances where it absorbed the DNA of aliens in order for Ben to be able to access them.
Or....
Maybe when it scans a "new" alien, it unlocks the stored DNA on Primus?

Well, Earth is a 'backwater planet' to most aliens, so it stands to reason we have more...primitive lifeforms that Azmuth might not have considered adding to the omnitrix until Ben wound up with it. (Why are we never on the same level as aliens? We're either far more advanced -rarity! - or they're far more advanced than we are...)

True.
As for the question, it stands to reason that we wouldn't be on the same level with them because every world develops at a different pace. Even on this planet, most countires aren't equal with each other. Taking it from a global scale to a universal scale, it makes sense.

Yeah, but I'm getting really sick of the "you, poor, poor, stupid Earthlings" thing. >.<

Well, yeah, I can see that. However, to play devil's advocate here, if they have the technology to get to Earth and Earth's technology isn't advanced enough to go find them yet, then I can see why they would consider this to be a backwater planet.

Fair enough, but it still annoys me.
Re-watched this one today. Still enjoyed it. ....why is it funnier for Azmuth to turn into Rath than for Ben to?

I think because Ben overdid it with the whole "Let me tell you something" lines. Plus, it's super funny for a genius to turn into an alien that's known for its lack of intelligence.
