So here's the deal: we will be doing forum awards.
Why this is different than other places:
While only members will be allowed to nominate, most categories (especially fanfiction), we're going to allow nominations for stories that aren't by members here.
Why it's still special for members: There will be member exclusive polls (nicest member, best writer for this board, etc.).
What winners get: Winners who aren't members of the board will be notified by e-mail or some other way and asked if they want a prize. If they don't get back to me, oh well. Members, however, will be guaranteed their prizes (as it will be easier to stay on me and tell me to get off my lazy behind and go work on them).
I know this is unorthodox, and I'll be honest - part of it is a ploy to get new members. Since only members can nominate and vote, it may work. If it doesn't, oh well. If it does, maybe next year we'll run a completely forum exclusive awards.
Categories:
Best Bevin fanfic: (entries must be a romance story, with Bevin as the romance group)
Best Gwevin fanfic: (entries must be a romance story, with Gwevin as the romance group)
Best Bwen fanfic: (...do I really have to say it again?)
Best Benlie fanfic:
Best other pairing fanfic:
Best crack fanfic:
Best overall romantic fanfic: (this may end up being a duke out among the winners of the Gwevin/Bevin/Bwen/Benlie/Other/Crack categories. Likely it won't be, out of fear that the winner will go to who has the most shippers)
Best comedic fanfic: (must be a fanfic expressly written to make you laugh - while it can have romance, it must not be the main point of the story)
Best action fanfic: (can have hints of romance or whatever else in here, but main point must be action)
Best Cross over fanfic:
Best Gwevin fanart:
Best Bevin fanart:
Best Bwen fanart:
Best other fanart:
Funniest fanart:
Best Gwen fanart:
Best Ben fanart:
Best Kevin fanart:
Best other characters fanart:

NO NOMINATING YOURSELF. It's just tacky, and no one likes you when you do it. This is why members only may post, because I will be checking on your identity. While you won't be banned from contest if you nominate yourself, I will remove your nomination. Them's the brakes.
If you think it's a bad idea, I'll be honest - I'm going to go through with it anyways, so there's no point in arguing with me.
