I'm pretty bad about starting stories when a different one hasn't been finished, but I don't mind juggling (and unlike most other writers, I don't really have anything else to do. No job, no school and all that). If I can get a decent idea, I may go ahead and write a fluffy little one shot over here tonight.

Awesome. No rush.
So, how do you think Kevin would react if he ever came to the realization that he loved Ben?

....I'm thinking that I should go ahead and write a oneshot over that. That could be an epically good story, and possibly very funny. I have my own theories, of course.
How do you think Gwen would react? I think she'd be kind of heartbroken, but I believe that she would still try to help them. For a while she probably wouldn't be able to be around them, maybe have to take a short break from alien fighting (I know she's not over emotional, but watching the guy you like fall for your relative? That would hurt).

I agree. She would probably have to take some time away from them just to cope. I think she might come to the conclusion that that's the reason Kevin seems reluctant to commit to her.
How would Ben react? Givin my theory that he could quite possibly be gay (or bi) to begin with, I don't think he would be too shocked, but he would probably worry about how it would affect Gwen.

Ben I can see pacing, trying to deny for a short while...but he's grown up enough that I'm sure he would admit to it later, even if no one pushed him into it. Probably not tell Kevin, out of fear of hurting Gwen, or because he thinks Kevin only wants to be with Gwen. Eventually, though, Gwen would figure it out or Ben would accidentally blurt it out to her. And cue the emotional turmoil among all three characters.

Hilarity ensues? Oh wait... wrong subject.
But yeah, this has the potential to be epic. I think you should go for it when you have the chance.

I think this has potential both for fluff *and* humor. And confusion...I may have to make it a full blown story. First I have to think of a title, though (I'm *awful* at titles...)

Yeah, I had three chapters of ADoU written before I had a title for it.
But that has serious potential for a well-rounded fic.

You know, I think I will write it as a story instead of just as a one shot. I often title my stories right after I finish the first chapter (Mask was going to be called Phantom, but that's already the name of a book about the Phantom of the Opera...and I used it when I drew the avatar I'm currently using).
I'm starting to see more of the appeal with this coupling as compared to others - there's more to deal with here. Yeah, there's a taboo with cousin love....but loving your old enemy who your cousin's in love with as well? That's just major.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, I love Gwen/Kevin, but there are so many possibilities for Ben/Kevin to work. And there are enough references in the show that can be interpreted in that manner.
Epic plot twist with potentially epic drama.

Seriously.
Plus I really want a gay couple to show up in a cartoon at some point. I just want it out there so kids know from a young age that there's nothing wrong with it. Break the taboo! Woo!
*cough* anyways...yeah. There's just such an intricate, interesting roller coaster ride if this couple were to occur. It's really fascinating, and there's just so much you can do with it!

I completely agree. Then again, look at the controversy that came about with Teletubbies (shudder). But there should be an openly, but believably, gay couple in a kids show. I think it would be a huge step forward.
But back to this particular ship... it would be nice if the writers thought they could get away with it.

I wonder....do you think that maybe censors would allow it, but writers are so worried about it that they don't try?
Anyways...yes, back to Ben and Kevin. I've always liked couples that tease each other, mess with each other a bit...especially if it's so well done that it takes you by surprise when one of them admits to being in love with the other. Which would fit them perfectly, of course. But how would you get Kevin to come around and admit to it?

I think it's a combination of both. The censors wouldn't let it by and the writers are too convinced of that to try.
Kevin wouldn't be the one to admit it. Ben would have to spring it on him. I'm curious about his reaction though. He'd probably tell him to GTFO at first.

I can't really see Kevin cursing at him....more of just staring at him for a while, until Ben felt really uncomfortable and decided to leave. And then Kevin would stay up for two nights in a row, refusing to drive Ben or Gwen anywhere (I'm pretty sure being around one Tennyson would just remind him of the other - especially since Gwen and Ben have the same color eyes). Just thinking about everything, trying to convince himself he didn't feel the same, maybe trying to tell himself Ben was just screwing with him. When he finally goes back to spending time with Ben and Gwen, he probably won't make eye contact with either, maybe accidentally glancing into Gwen's eyes and then thinking about Ben....
