Alright, it seems like we have all the other pairings listed but this one, so I'll start the Slash discussion.
Just a reminder, opinions are fine, but absolutely no flaming.
Personally, I don't mind slash, as long as it isn't full of OOC moments. I've seen some where the writer turned Kevin into a raging queen and then I've seen some where they were both kept in character.
Another thing that makes me more inclined to read it is if it's a genuinely good story without all the explicit details. Just like any other fic, it doesn't need graphic scenes to be a good story.
There are a few things in the show that hint at the possibility of this, even dating back to the original series. As far as Alien Force goes, Ben does have his moments that make me wonder (especially during the episode "Save the Last Dance" where he fixed Kevin's tie. "Now, don't you look dapper?")
So, what are your thoughts on this one? Again, no flames please.

I think the writers were aiming for a three-way thing.
It does make me wonder. But for those two, it's strictly a case of "Two hot guys... Hmmm..." for me. I'm not really a slash shipper, but I agree with you Lasa. It REALLY makes me wonder.

I think if this wasn't technically a kid's show, they might have followed along the "three-way" lines. But, that's where fic writers come in.
Personally, even if it wasn't Ben ending up with Kevin, I still can't really see Ben in a long-term relationship with a girl.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder about Ben. I'm not saying he's gay, but he acts a lot like some of my bisexual friends.
Misery Loves Fanfics is the author that got me really thinking and even enjoying this. If you can write the story and keep them in character, I feel you may be onto something. However, if Kevin was gay...I just see him wanting to stay in the closet for a long time until he was forced out. Big macho guy? Yeah...I just see him being embarrassed by it at first.

Oh I agree. Definitely. Kevin would have some issues with it if he ever came to the realization that he liked Ben as more than just friends. I can see Ben coming out and admitting it first though.
The challenge with Slash is definitely keeping them in-character. Like I mentioned, the ones that turn the guys into raging queens tend to make me cringe though.
If I get ambitious, I might actually try my hand at one of those.

Oh, gosh, neither Ben nor Kevin fits the queen stereotype. Ben's cute and cuddly, yes, but I don't see him walking outside in a dress or mascara anytime soon.
And Kevin as a queen? He'd jump out of your tv screen and hit you for it.

The sad thing is... people actually write him like that.
I just had the hilarious mental image of Kevin in drag though. I swear, my mind is a scary place.
I'm actually tempted to do the dreaded Ben/OC ship with a guy. I think I could pull it off. But then again, maybe I'll try a good BeVin angst-fest. Last time I tried to write romance, it didn't turn out so well.

Either way, I'll read it, and probably love it. I've got a lot of plans for the cliche contest, and it's going to have a bunch of mixed pairings...it'll be pretty crazy. I'm kind of tempted to just go ahead and write it.
Anyways, I can picture Kevin in a dress, but it's more of a funny mental image, and he's glaring at me (not many men can pull off the spaghetti strap knee length little black dress anyways). Honestly, if we're being for serious, I can see Ben being gay. I can see Kevin being gay. With each other? Quite possibly. There is that little issue where Ben has Julie (but she's often nowhere to be found, so who knows?), and Kevin is pretty in to Gwen, but then, Kevin spent a long time trying to hunt Ben down to hurt him or worse. So if he were to fall for Ben, it would probably be a very hard thing for him to admit.

In a serious story, I can see how spending so much time obsessing about hunting down Ben could start creating other feelings. Obsession can lead to other things or even the fact that he wanted to hurt him was a way to convince himself that he was following him for that reason only, even if deep down, he knew it was something more.

...*laughs hysterically* I'm so sorry, but after I read your post, I looked down at your banner and it totally looks like Kevin's glaring at what you just wrote. *chuckles* sorry. Anyways, that's a pretty good theory. Young boys aren't likely to understand being attracted to another boy, especially if they don't have a parent to tell them that there's nothing wrong with it (or worse, had a parent around who disapproved of it)

I know, Kevin would probably want to hurt me after that post Lol.
And you make a good point there. Even teenagers would face that confusion. As you mentioned, especially with a disapproving parent (been there, done that... it sucks).

Yeah, I'm sure he wants to hurt all of us for discussing the idea that he likes Ben. Heck, he probably wouldn't be too fond of us discussing him liking Gwen.
that's not an easy place to be, liking someone and knowing that there are people out there who think it's wrong. Kevin's gotten pretty protective of Gwen, so I'm wondering if he had a crush on Ben, if he'd become really protective of Ben as well, or if he would back off because Ben's kicked his butt.

He already is pretty protective of him. Not nearly as much as he is with Gwen, but there are times when he does show a certain amount of tenderness towards Ben. (Re "Voided" when he pulled him through the portal "Time to come home, Ben.")

Ah, there we go. That moment in Voided was pretty cute. Hmm....now I'm tempted to write a *serious* fanfic between these two. I may do so. I should probably finish one of the 3 stories I'm working on first, though.....

Yeah, that's the problem with that idea. I want to write it, but I've got too much else going on.
I'd like to see what you come up with for it though.
