No flaming tolerated - opinions are fine, but flames are not
Seeing that cascade88 has joined us (and she writes such wonderful Ben/Gwen fanfiction), thought I should add this one.
Ironically, what little I did see of the original show (because I wasn't paying very good attention and didn't even realize Ben and Gwen were cousins), I actually thought they were supposed to be together. I can see the arguments for them - they really do care about one another. Perhaps there could be more there.

From the way they acted in the original show, I can see the potential, but in Alien Force, I don't see it happening. Personally, I'm not a fan of the ship, but to each his (or her) own.

Well, Alien Force is pretty heavy-handed with the "Gwen and Kevin like each other" parts...probably too heavy handed for some people's tastes.
Anyways, they do look pretty cute together (Ben's the kind of guy that looks cute with everybody...he's just an adorable character). They've been through so much together that I can see the potential. They grew up together, in both literal sense and in the whole alien-fighting sense.

I do like Ben/Gwen. The parts in B10 where they weren't fighting were sweet, but when they started fighting it kind of ticked me off, because I don't really like love-hate relationships (even if both of them are good, bad or there's no dividing side). To be honest, I like their interactions in B10AF more. However, I preferred Gwevin, partly because of its in-your-faceness... And the fact that neither of them are perfect! I will stop talking about Gwevin here and go back to Bwen. My point is, I don't mind Bwen in B10AF (actually, I had a fic idea for them!), but I prefer Gwevin.

Hey, nothing wrong with preferences. I'm getting into a "I ship everybody" phase lately...*laughs*. I'm easily influenced by good fanfiction. Cascade88 has some awesome Bwen ones.

Lol...
B10 is perhaps the only fandom I don't really have an OTP. I mean, I love Gwevin, but there's something about Bwen, lol...

I started with an OTP of Gwevin, even insisting I'd never like the other pairings...but hey, if you can write it and write it in character, odds are you'll convert me. So yes, I ship Bwen. I wish we knew what state they were in, though. It'd be so much easier if we knew whether or not it was legal in the state they're in.

Some Bwen stories are lovely. I agree. Others are just like annoying Gwevin ones, and I'll never read them.
However, I tend to read more Gwevin stuff. So, maybe fanfiction played a role in increasing my Gwevin-ness compared to my Bwen-ness (although there are quite a few Bwen stories).
You insisted you'd never like other pairings?

*laughs* Yeah...I pretend to be really stubborn about it, but eh, I'm actually pretty easy to convince of things.
I read more Gwevin, which is why I've read more bad Gwevin stories than anything else. Bwen is a very popular one right now.

I don't perfer this couple since I'm not really big on incest, but it did give some hints in the original series that it could have happend. I think that's why they made a bigger deal about it in Alien Force for couples. Like bringing Kevin into the group and causing an attracting between Gwen and Kevin. Also bringing Julie in so Ben would have someone.

I don't really see Bwen as incest. After all, Albert Einstein and Darwin married their FIRST cousin (actually Albert Einstein's cousin was related first cousin on one side, and second cousin on the other, so they're doubly related). And it was common in the Regency era - Darcy was supposed to have married his cousin Anne De Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice, remember?
It depends on your interpretation of it I suppose.

I wish we knew what state they were in, though. It'd be so much easier if we knew whether or not it was legal in the state they're in. The state seems like it's open to interpretation since the town is fictional. I've placed them in California, but that's because it worked for the fic. I should probably add that a lot of the scenes in AF take place in the desert which places Bellwood most likely somewhere in the southwestern states.

Personally, I think they'd be in Arizona, Cali, Nevada or New Mexico. There's deserts, and there's constant 'alien sightings' in those areas. Just what it looks like to me.

I think I read on the internet that Dwayne McDuffie said that Bellwood's in the same state as Springfield. You know, like in the Simpsons.

well, that means it isn't really anywhere. for the sake of being fair to all ships, let's just assume that they're in a state were cousin love is legal.
