I like it. I think it's sweet, and it is canon. ....Julie seems to get a lot of hate, though. Any ideas why?

Julie seems like a MarySue. Her only purpose is to be a romantic interest. I don't necessarily hate her, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if she got eaten by zombies.
Just my opinion though.

I saw someone on deviantart with a banner or something that changed from Julie to a DNalien, stating something about that's the only way he'd like her.
I will give you that for now, she doesn't seem to have much to do...I'm hoping she'll be developed a bit more later on.

That's harsh. I don't think Ben would go for a DNAlien at all, regardless of who it is.
I'd like to see them develop her more too. Maybe if they add some depth or purpose to the character, I'd like her more, but we'll see.

I don't think she *could* be a DNalien. She would have tried to hurt Ben by now. And that would just be cruel for the writers to do to him (first girl he likes wants to keep him as a pet, then his first girlfriend is just trying to destroy him? Way too mean)
We'll have to see. Julie doesn't show up that much, and when she does, she's often not given a whole lot to do. It makes it harder to get to know her.

They need to flesh out her character a bit, in my opinion. We know the backgrounds on Kevin, Ben, and Gwen. Even Cooper has more background in the show and he's only shown up rarely.

I wonder if they'll be bringing Cooper back at any point....
Hopefully they will flesh her out, but I'm wondering if fan's reactions to her so far is what's keeping them from doing it. Maybe they realize the fans don't like her too much, so they're trying to have her not show up as much? I hope not...the more she shows up, the more we can get to know her, and maybe more people will come around to liking her.

I don't really understand all the hate Julie's recieving. Ben/Julie is a pretty cute couple. Besides, in that episode that Ben and Julie went out on, was hillarious. I loved watching a flustered Ben. I was laughing when ever he stumbled with his words.
I think she's going to be in the DNAlien wars. I saw her in the comercials they have for it on Cartoon Network. Well, I'm pretty sure she's going to be in it. Since they did show her shoting a gun for a second and saying "Be carefull Ben" in another second preview.

I agree, they do make a cute couple, but the writers haven't given her enough depth for us to really get to know her. We know nearly nothing about her background except that she's a straight-A student and is great at tennis.

That's true, us fanfic writers basically have to make up a background story for her. But I still think that it's unfair to hate her, it's like hating someone you don't even know. Doesn't really make much sense to me.

There's always a character in a fandom who gets unjustified hate. Unfortunately, Julie seems to have drawn the short stick here. Maybe one of the new episodes this week will give her more...I did see a lot of people come around to her after Be-Knighted, so maybe a few more appearances will get her some more fans.

Julie does seem Mary-Sue-ish, but I'm sure if they have time, they'll improve Ben/Julie. Myself is not a huge B/J fan, but she's OK. So far, at least.

She may seem kind of Mary-sue-ish, but it's because we don't really know much about her. But, that's just my oppinion. I can't really hate her, it's kind of hard to hate a fellow asian.  |
