this is different from the "upcoming movies" thread...that ones for movies you want to see or recently saw in theaters. This is *any* movie you like.
some personal favorites:
The Nightmare Before Christmas Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius Cardcaptor Sakura the movie 2 Bruce Almighty The Wedding Singer Dracula: Dead and Loving It Interview With the Vampire Midnight Meat Train Final Destination series 13 Ghosts Seven The Producers The Phantom of the Opera (most recent version) 300 Arsenic and Old Lace Hairspray (more recent version. Didn't care for original) Aladdin Beauty and the Beast The Little Mermaid Mulan The Lion King The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride Mulan 2 Tarzan (animated Disney version) Halloween (John Carpenter version only. No Rob Zombie) Nightmare on Elm Street (first movie only) Wes Craven's New Nightmare Friday the 13th (original) Freddy Vs. Jason (...it's funny, at least) The Hamiltons Knocked Up Shrek
...that's all I can think of. I know I have more movies in my horror collection, but I can't recall what they are. I was watching Dracula: Dead and Loving it earlier (I LOVE Mel Brooks). It's just funny...
Johnathan: *tries to hand stake back to Van Helsing* Van Helsing: I can't do it! It has to be done by someone who loved her in life! Johnathan: I only liked her! Van Helsing: That's close enough!

Hmmm:
Aeon Flux 27 Dresses Odd Girl Out Snow Falling on Cedars Gattaca Step Up! The Count of Monte Cristo Children of Heaven (Iranian) Emma (the one with Gwyneth Parltrow in it - I didn't like the book, but the acting in the movie was cute) Titan A.E. Valentine (That's a creepy horror flick) Anastasia Antz Zorro (both 1st and 2nd) Pirates of the Caribbean (the whole trilogy) Lord of the Rings (ditto) There are several I can't remember - one was starring Matthew Perry teaching students (WHY CAN'T I REMEMBER THE NAME?), and was seriously awesome.

Oh, Love Lord of the Rings. With Anastasia, do you mean the animated film Fox did? I love that one (there's also an old black and white one...I found it kind of boring, personally)

The animated one.
What I find pretty ironic is that I would later meet a guy with the same name as the male protagonist. I don't know about a black and white one *shrugs*. I was pretty young when it first came out, and when I heard it was based on a real-life princess, I thought it was a true movie. I'm funny that way.
But it would have been a darned awesome romantic story.
As for LotR, one thing I enjoyed more about the movie was the increase in the importance of the female characters. The books are well written, but if you notice, there are very few parts from the female point of view. I still prefer the books because so much more happens and it is just epic (IT IS!), but the movie doesn't disappoint and it's a great way to be introduced to the book, because it is just so LONG (I was 10 when I finished it, but trust me, I wouldn't have finished it if it weren't for the movie capturing my interest in it).

Demetri is just plain win. I love the romance in that story...I've got a thing for love/hate relationships.
Umm...I'm *really* bad with old English, so I can't bring myself to finish Lord of the Rings. I know I lose nerd points for that. But the movies are great (though I think the girl playing Eowyn looks a bit too old. She's very pretty, but she looks ...old). I wanted to hug Gollum in the 2nd movie...just hold him and tell him everything's going to be all right. But then he betrays them and it's all "...okay, never mind."
I'm bad about being too sympathetic towards bad guys. My friends made fun of me when we left Pan's Labrynth (we went to see it in a group of about 12 or more of us...) and I said I felt bad for the general.

Haha, I'm not too big on love/hate relationships, unless I sense that the characters involved can work in tandem. And have chemistry. I don't know, I think it's just that oomph that makes the romance sizzle. Which may be why most of my ship preferences are fanon. The only canon ones I ship are Gwevin, Caleb/Cornelia (W.I.T.C.H.), Movie and Season 3 Jimmy/Cindy (otherwise I just got ticked off), and I think that's it. Bear in mind that I dabble in A LOT of fandoms (if you check my ff.net profile you'll see that it's just tip of the iceberg). Actually, when it comes to anime/manga - all of my ships (the main ones, at least) are canon. That means either one of two things: a) they write romance better, or b) the writers and I have a telepathic connection and every romance I dream of comes true (although not necessarily in the way I dream of *cries over Shiro/Saber in animeverse!Fate/Stay Night). I think I like a few of Matthew Perry's movies, come to think of it. He's not famous, but his movies are interesting. I still can't remember the title of the one where he acts as a teacher for 5th/6th graders (too lazy to search), but I remember The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel. Quite cute.

I like love/hate when it's not overdone. There's a limit. There has to be a turnaround at some point, or it's just irritating.
Oh! Silence of the Lambs...can't believe I forgot that, as Anthony Hopkins is pretty much my favorite actor ever (and my dog's name is Hannibal...).
I like Matthew Perry...I think (He was Chandler in Friends, right? Or am I mixed up?)

Yeah, Matthew Perry was Chandler. Chandler and Joey were pretty much my favourite characters. Monica too. That reminds me, my secret guilty pleasure movie is Charlie's Angels (Joey played by Matt Le Blanc played as Lucy Liu's boyfriend in the movie). Because I always wanted to kick behind...

That one was actually one of the better tv shows into movies that they've done. Wasn't amazing, but it definitely wasn't bad and it's not something you should be ashamed of liking.

I have actually never seen the TV show before for Charlie's Angels.
I like most of Sandra Bullock's movies, except the ones that have sequels. If you ask me, Speed and Miss Congeniality should not have continued with a sequel.

Agreed. Miss Congeniality was funny. The sequel...eh, at best. (Plus the original had Michael Caine! LOVE him!).

On a somewhat similar note - remember 10 Things I Hate About You? It reminded me of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, and the chemistry between (the late) Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles was awesome.

It was based on The Taming of the Shrew, actually (that's why Patrick's last name was Verona, the line "I burn, I pine, I perish", etc."), so good eye. I LOVED 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger was an incredible actor, and shall be missed. Julia Stiles is an amazing actress and needs to be in more movies. I haven't seen much of her lately.

I know right? She's one of my favourite actresses. She has depth. I did not know that trivia about it, actually. It's been a long time since I saw it, but I remember that I adored the movie...

It was pretty good. Definitely one of the better ones aimed at teenagers (LOVE when Patrick sings in the stands to Kat....too awesomely cute).
